Ruth & Chris's Wedding Day at St Andrew's Church, Biggleswade

Ruth & Chris's wedding took place at St Andrews Church in Biggleswade, a lovely church which can be dated back to around 1340. The clouds were looking a little grey as I drove from Hitchin up to Biggleswade which was where Ruth was leaving from.  I was greeted by a very calm bride and all around her was calm, lovely but it doesn't happen often. The ceremony was quite early being at 11.30am and I arrived at the church at the same time as Ruth and her Dad, sadly now the heavens had open and Ruth made a dash from the car to the church, she didn't get too wet in the process. All through the ceremony the rain was lashing down so I started to format a plan as it looked as though the photos would have to be taken in side, jammy or what but as Ruth & Chris exited the church the rain stopped, someone was watching down on them, I whizzed through the photos they had asked for as the black rain clouds were heading our way again. It just started to rain as I took the last shot and we mad a dash for the reception venue.

The reception was being held at the conservative club which is next door to the church, still it made for some good photos of Ruth and Chris huddled together under a brolley, me walking backwards taking photos hoping I wasn't going to land in a big puddle or worse still fall backwards, I survived as all 3 of us picked up speed as it was now lashing down. The meal was a five course affair and the meal was prepeared and served by Halsey's Delicatessen & Tearooms, as I was lucky enough to also be eating I can testify the meal was fantastic, I would highly recommend these guys for any of your catering needs, simply first rate. The afternoon concluded with the traditional speeches and cake cutting, the end to a fantastic relaxed wedding.

Emma & Cliff - Ardmore House Hotel, St Albans, Hertfordshire.

Early start on Saturday to make my way over to Ardmore House Hotel in St Albans, a small but lovely hotel situated just out of the town centre. Balloon arches arriving, florists delivering flowers, tables being laid, it was a hive of activity, I started to take some photos of the details on the tables and the seating plan as it was all going to get so busy later.

I went to find Emma who was just finishing her hair, the bridesmaids arrived at same time - all 5 of them - Carrie, Annette, Charlie, Beth & Ellie. It was all very chilled in the room, a lovely atmosphere. I left the girls to get into there dresses whilst I went off to find the groom - Cliff and his bestman - Darren. Cliff was so relaxed yet Darren was a little worried the speech he's have to make later (guys you need to chill out, it's really not that bad) I took a few shots of the 2 of them together before going back to see Emma to take a few shots with the girls and Emma's dad, all very emotional. Walter the toastmaster came to collect Emma to take her to the ceremony room, Emma & her father entered the room last, I saw so many ladies crying as Emma glided gracefully down the aisle to stand alongside Cliff.  You really make the perfect couple, constantly smiling and you were so happy.

This happy atmosphere continued throughout the rest of the day, we had a shower to briefly duck inside from from but it really didn't matter.  I must be one of the luckiest photographers ever to always have such lovely bride and grooms, I really did enjoy myself Emma & Cliff, thank you so much, the day was perfect.

Why not have a look at the slideshow film I've put together.

Accidental Dog Photo

OK so I had set up the lighting to take some photos of our 3 dogs when Lulu, my wife's chiwawa decided to help herself to my tea the cheeky minx, if it's not the children fleecing me for money it's the dog nicking me tea. Most unfortunate cup however, I would like to make it very clear at the point I am not her dad as our eyes are very different in colour.

Katie & Travis's Wedding at The Old Palace Lodge Hotel, Dunstable

18 months in the planning and suddenly their big day was here. Katie & Travis were such a fantastic couple and I was really looking forward to the day, the weather was slightly chilly but it really didn't matter, there was so much fun and laughter throughout the entire day, it could only be described as awesome.

Their wedding was taking place at The Priory Church of St Peter, Dunstable, a beautiful church eastablished back in 1132, even though it is in the middle of the town it stands in some beautiful grounds. The wedding reception was being held literally across the road at The Old Palace Lodge Hotel, a contemporary hotel with a lovely feel about it.

Katie had 4 bridesmaids, her 2 sisters, Amanda & Nicola, Her best friend Lauren & Travis's rather cute niece Tilly, a little shy to begin with but she came around in the end. Katie also had a pageboy, Lewis who stole the hearts of all the ladies at the wedding. The atmosphere in the room while they were getting ready was so calm, lacing up the back of the dress was interesting, Nicola holding the instruction sheet while Amanda & Lauren followed her instructions, "A through C and then through B" and then the comment "the lady in the shop made it look so easy" time to make my exit at this point and head over the road to find Travis.

Travis seemed incredibly relaxed compared to some grooms I see.  His bestman was his brother Grant who I have to say was fantastic and took his responsibilities extremely seriously and always had a smile on his face, nothing was too much trouble. Travis's 2 ushers were Warren & Chris, you were all so good, we had a real laugh taking all the photos Travis requested.

Katie arrived on time in a fantastic car supplied by Lord Cars, Katie's car was the Silver lady and the bridesmaids arrived in the Silver Baroness, such superb cars. Katie was a little more serious at this point, can't think why! I just took the photos as things happened, a little adjustment of the dress and veil by the door, "deep breaths Katie" "you'll be fine" were all being said.

The ceremony passed and walking down the aisle after Katie & Travis seemed so relaxed, we exited the church and Katie was greeted by a few of her school puplis so we took a quick shot of them throwing confetti then off to take some family photos. I could go on about the whole day as it was brilliant but I just going to let you watch a small film I put together, enjoy!
