Wonderbag shoot - Eco-cooking that's changing lives

Earlier this week I was contacted by a young lady call Jac after she did a Google search for a commercial photographer in Hertfordshire and London. Jac is in charge of international & UK sales for a fantastic invention called 'Wonderbag' She needed some photos taking as the bag was to be featured in the October issue of Good Housekeeping    

What is a Wonderbag?

It really is very simple. The Wonderbag is a heat-retention cooking bag.

A Wonderbag is an insulated bag in which people can cook anything from meaty stews or vegetable curries to simple rice and soups. You heat up your pot of food on the stove, kick-starting the cooking process, and then place it in the Wonderbag.

Wonderbag's clever insulating properties allow food that has been brought to the boil to finish cooking while in the bag without the use of additional energy. So, families can cook appetising hot meals, while saving energy - and money. It also means less time tending cooking food – time that can be better spent looking after children, earning an income or doing essential chores.

As of June 2012, 500K Wonderbags have been distributed throughout South Africa, set to improve the lives of over 2 million people, made possible by carbon offsets.. With key partnerships in place, we hope to see that figure rise to at least 5 million in the next few years.

John's Commercial Portrait Session for his LinkedIn Profile Photo

I got an email from John after a Google search for a commercial photographer in Hertfordshire asking me to take some photos of him for use on his website and for his LinkedIn profile photo. John turned up carrying 2 suit bags, after an initial chat and the obligatory cup of coffee we set to work creating a whole selection of images from which he could choose the images he wanted to use. He changed into one of his handmade suits and away we went. John had warned me he hated having his photo taken (I wish I had a pound everytime someone said that to me) but I have to save he did really well.

After a change into a different suit the session was over. John got back into his jeans and t-shirt, I thought this outfit looked great so we did a few more photos in the more casual outfit, I have to say I really like these ones.

Bespoke DVD cases for brides and grooms on our disc only package.

For some time now we have been supplying a bespoke DVD case for all couples that are having the disc only package. I've finally got around to taking some photos of one before it goes out later this afternoon.  Several designs are available and I do tend to vary the ones I choose, they all look superb and come in a smart black case for protection.

Sacha & Michael's Wedding at South Farm, Shingay by Hertfordshire Wedding Photographer Peter Webb

Mid-week weddings are fantastic, they are usually very relaxed affairs, a mid-week wedding at South Farm, Shingay can only be described as an absolute dream, This is a venue I have been visiting for a few years now and I absolutely love the place.  The grounds are simply stunning with so many lovely places to take photos, you really are spoilt for choice.

You can imagine my excitement in that case when I saw Sacha & Michael had booked it for their wedding, I say a wedding it was actually a blessing as they were married one year previous in the United Sates.

Sacha was a little quieter than I had seen previously, I'll put it down to the nerves. I left Sacha in her room having her make-up 'done' as I had spotted Michael outside sporting a very fetching outfit which really did suit (no pun intended) him very well. He wore a black tail coat with top hat and gloves all in black, he looked the business.

The weather was perfect although the forecast in the morning mentioned rain, fortunately it stayed away so the ceremony could be held outside. The guests were seated in the garden, Michael was standing looking back for the arrival of his wife, Sacha was just having a final look in the mirror and given reassuring complements by the bridesmaids, her two sisters, Michele & Deborah. The music started, the guests turned to await Sacha's arrival, she was met just in front of the pond by Michael and then they both walked over to the summer house.

The ceremony was a simple affair and conducted by Michael's father, David.  A short talk and then they exchanged new rings, that was it, they exited the summer house and walked back through the guests to a hearty round of applause.  The rest of the afternoon was very relaxing, lots of chatting, drinking and the children running around the garden.

Eventually they made their way over to the barn for the wedding breakfast which if I know South Farm was a sumptuous affair as the food there is simply devinne.

Petra's Baby Bump photo session by Baby Bump Photographer Hertfordshire.

Only a few weeks to go until the birth of her first child, Petra decided she would really like to get a few shots of herself and some with her husband Simon to record this last part of the pregnancy.

What a great relaxed session, most of the photos were of Petra but we didn't have to much trouble convincing Simon to get involed in a few photos, I think secretly he quite enjoyed it because towards the end of the session he came up with some ideas for photos of Petra and himself together.

Not long to go now Petra, Monday 18th June is her due date, I will keep you informed. I look forward to seeing you again soon with your new bundle of joy.

Emily Jane Cakes Photoshoot

During a recent wedding fayre I got chatting to Emily, her Hertfordshire wedding cake company - Emily Jane Cakes makes the most beautiful cakes in all shapes and sizes, gorgeous designs, exquisite flavours and all made with the finest ingredients.  Emily's cakes look fantastic and taste amazing,  trust me I can speak with some authority here.  Not only does she make wedding cakes but also celebration cakes and cup cakes.

Emily had just set up a new website and was looking for some photos to show off her really impressive kitchen and consultation room in a unit based just outside Old Knebworth in Hertfordshire.

I had the most delightful morning taking the photos while being supplied constantly with tea and cake, it was great.  Check out the fruits of my labour.

Saturday 2 June was to be day a decided to trial my photo booth at a wedding for Jade & Andy at Tewin Bury Farm in Hertfordshire.  I had spent the previous week purchasing lots of silly wigs, hats & glasses in preparation for Saturday evening. My wife thought I had lost the plot when everything started to arrive by courier.

I was not disappointed come Saturday evening, OK I had to be a little persuasive to begin with but once people saw others having a go they all joined in. I had some very extrovert people, which always helps in this style of photo, so with a little alcohol and the loosening of inhibitions made the evening a fantastic success!
